Driven day for 8/9 guns including accommodation
Description
Barlocco shoot is a private family shoot situated on the South coast of Scotland half way between Gretna and Stranraer. It occupies a couple of miles on the north coast of the Solway Firth. It overlooks the Lake District to the South and the Isle of Man to the South West. It rises from sea level to 450’ in 800 yards! There are views for 50 miles in every direction. The shoot was started in 1989 when many of the woods were designed & laid out by Ian McCall the high-heid-yin of GWCT Scotland at that time. The shooting is most challenging in a brisk (Force 6-7) SW wind. (Not that uncommon). The day is for a team of 8 to 9 guns with an expected bag of about 150. It includes all transport and 2 breaks for snacks and drinks. The shoot lunch will be a relaxed affair with drinks provided and will be at the end of the day to make the most of the daylight. The accommodation the night before the shoot has been arranged at Craigadam, about 15 miles away at Crocketford near Dumfries. Richard and Celia ran their own commercial shoot until covid. They now confine themselves to excellent simulated clay days. Their accommodation and hospitality is as luxurious as it’s legendary. Food and drink the night before will be at the lot winner's own expense. Accommodation is 4th December with the day's shooting on 5th December
