"Quiz the Scientist" Spend the day with Dr Andreas Heinemeyer

This lot provides a unique chance to talk to one of the UK's leading peatland scientists (University of York), who has worked on upland peatlands/heather moorlands for nearly 20 years. The activity of the day can be aligned with the interests of the successful bidder.

The day could include a tour around the land and discussing upland management options and to explore the latest knowledge about management impacts (with a focus on heather on peat or tree planting). There will be ample opportunity to explore aspects around how peatlands work, how they developed, how they were shaped by people in the past and how future climate/management could affect these precious landscapes and how research could provide answers to interesting questions. The day visit can also include a talk and Q&A (e.g., estate staff).
