All the King's horses, and all the King's men, Couldn't put the Green Man together again Commissioned by Their Majesties The King and Queen, this egg was painted by Alice Shirley, alumnus of The Royal Drawing School
Description
Alice Shirley is an artist and designer who works exclusively by hand in a wide variety of materials. Her work primarily focuses on the natural world and storytelling. She has been collaborating with the French fashion house Hermès Paris creating designs for their silk scarves, has worked with other luxury brands and completed private commissions for clients worldwide.
Their Majesties The King and Queen, joint Presidents of Elephant Family, have commissioned an eggs-tra special sculpture to be displayed at Buckingham Palace as part of the Big Egg Hunt. Created by celebrated artist and Royal Drawing School alumnus, Alice Shirley, the Green Man Humpty Dumpty Egg gives an eco-twist to the classic nursery rhyme. Look out for a leafy green face in this intricate design, which is inspired by Their Majesties’ love of nature and conservation. The Green Man is a celebration of the natural world which also reflects that Easter is a festival of Spring. It has been created using acrylic paint and weatherproof varnish.
