3 x Bottles of Ukrainian Wine

1) “Kara Kermen” 2018, Beykush Winery from Mykolaiv region (South)

It’s the unusual blend of Spanish grape Tempranillo and Georgian one Saperavi. Each variety was fermented and aged in new American oak barrels for at least 36 months separately, then the blend was made.  

Deep and complex wine, richly fruited, revealing tones of wild berries, hints of black truffle, spices, smoky notes and nuances of leather, age-worthy. 

2) “Intriga” 2021, Biologist Craft Winery from Kyiv region (Center)

A flagship wine from natural wines producer Biologist. A blend of red varieties Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for one year in oak barrels. It is an intense, full-bodied wine with complex aromas of prunes, currants, cherries and leather.

3) “Haut de Gamme” 2020, Kolonist Wine from Odesa region (South) 

Produced from grape varieties Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot from own vineyards. Wine is produced by fermentation technology with whole berries in oak vinificators which are made of hundred-years oak, and aged for 9 months in new French barriques.

This wine has a velvety versatile aroma and taste with dominant tones of aging, like smoke and sap, pronounced tones of red and black currant, hints of vanilla and coffee. Great for aging.
