Spitfire simulator experience
Description
Fly a WWII Spitfire from our full size replica cockpit. This amazing experience is for two people and includes a take off, aerobatics, low flying, flying under a bridge and performing a landing - all in a 30 - 45 minute session each.
Brian Smith, who served with the RAF and later as a pilot with British Airways has constructed a unique Spitfire flight experience in a barn at his Wisborough Green home. Uniforms hang on the wall, logbooks sit next to ration books and old newspapers, and Vera Lynn records grace the airwaves to create a nostalgic feel to the experience.
Brian and the team have built a cockpit of a Spitfire using realistic controls, displays, and the latest computer technology. The impressive visual experience is displayed over three huge screens spanning the width of the cabin.
Please note:
The simulator is in a crew hut that is on the ground floor with wheelchair access. However, to fly, the pilot needs to be able to climb into the cockpit, sit unaided, operate the controls, and be able to climb out. Anyone with a lower body circumference of over 120cm/48 inches will find this difficult.
On a date mutually agreed by all and before the end of November 2024
With huge thanks to Brian Smith for generously dating this experience.
