Description
Mel Shand is a long-time supporter of the GWCT as one of the professional judges for the annual Schools Art competition and twice as an Artist in Action at the Scottish Game Fair at Scone. She is currently the Artist in Residence at The Barn Contemporary Arts and a Trustee of the River Dee Trust.
Living and working in Aberdeenshire on a traditional sporting estate with Hedge, the gamekeeper, their life revolves around the demands of the changing seasons. She paints large and small colourful oils and “dirty big drawings” in charcoal, graphite and chalk. Her choice of subject matter are the birds and animals she sometimes finds quite literally on the doorstep.
There are 6 signed, limited edition A3 prints to choose from and delivery/collection can be discussed after the auction but the buyer may need to cover any cost if postage is required.
