About
David Ferry RE, born in Blackpool studied at the Blackpool College of Technology, the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, and the Slade. He is a recognised and award-winning artist in the field of printmaking, book arts and photomontage. He has received awards from the Pollock Krasner Foundation in New York. He was a medal winner at the 1st and 2nd Seoul international Book Arts Competitions.
David is the President of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers in London. Examples of his works can be found in the collections of, The Ashmolean Oxford, The Art Institute of Chicago, British Airways, Conran Foundation John Lewis Partnership, Jinling Museum China, The Library of Congress Washington, The National Art Library, and the V&A.
Works also feature in the National Museums of Australia, Estonia, Wales, and the The China Printmaking Museum, in Shenzhen.
David Ferry is Emeritus Professor of Printmaking and Book Arts at the Cardiff School of Art and Design, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and Hon Dr of Arts at Southampton Solent University.
Recently David has been a selector for The ING Discerning Eye exhibition in London and the Guanlan 2023 International Biennial, China.
David is a former Chairman of the Chelsea Arts Club.
