About
Alexander Pemberton paints from life mainly by the Thames and locations in Greenwich where he lives.
After graduation from Chelsea School of Art (1981), he won a British Council Award to work in Spain, and, in 1983-84 he won an Elizabeth Greenshields Award to paint in Mexico.
Recent solo exhibitions were at Abbott & Holder: ‘Thames Paintings' (2014) and 'Still Lifes' (2022) and at Chappel Galleries (2023) In 2009-10 he showed paintings of Thames at the River & Rowing museum, Henley.
In 2002-05 he worked with Embrace the Middle East charity, to make exhibitions based on his journeys to Israel/Palestine and Armenia. Previously he had solo exhibitions at Cadogan Contemporary (1992) and Chappel Galleries (2006), and has exhibited in many group shows
