About:

Tamsin works in oil paintings , mixed media and ceramics inspired by the coast, countryside and wildlife. 

“The estuary where I live and surrounding downland with the wildlife and people it supports are a rich source for my work. I create abstracted realism paintings that simplify form, colour and composition. Working mainly in oil I like to take an idea and simply play with it to see what develops - If it doesn’t work I paint over it and these often result in my best paintings! Sometimes my images are abstract and expressive, whilst others are more representational. I am always experimenting, forever trying to capture how a place makes me feel, or the character of a person or animal. 

I come from a creative family so have sketched from an early age. This helped me to really look at the world - to observe details, colour and composition. I studied art at university and worked as a creative garden designer during my career. Throughout my life I have always painted and sold, and having now retired can devote more time to it.

I exhibit twice a year with the Bosham art trail in December and the Chichester Art Society in June - where I have won awards.

My Egg represents my favourite hobby sailing and pictures the beautiful Sunbeam keel boats that I race in Chichester harbour."

All eggs must be collected in person if possible from Chichester Festival Theatre, or can be hand delivered if you live within a 50 mile radius.
