Description

From Tony-nominated composer Alex Baranowski, a rare opportunity to learn the secrets of film scoring.

Alex Baranowski, renowned for his work with Mercury Prize winners The xx and collaborations with iconic directors like Wes Anderson and Taika Waititi, is offering an exclusive masterclass. With a career spanning film, theater, and classical music, Alex brings a unique perspective to the art of film scoring that aspiring composers won't want to miss. The winner can expect to gain valuable insights into the creative process and techniques behind crafting memorable scores for the screen.

His credits include the BAFTA-nominated McCullin, Oscar-nominated The Teacher, and a collaboration with Daniel Hope, which came in at number 1 in the UK Classicals Charts. This year he has scored Daniel Kaluuya's dystopian debut feature, The Kitchen, alongside the Emmy Award winning producer Labrinth.

In this NYT exclusive masterclass, Alex will share his expertise on how to effectively use music to enhance storytelling, create emotional impact, and capture the essence of a film's narrative. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional in the industry and gain practical knowledge that can help elevate their own compositions for film and television.

Masterclass to be 1-2 hours in length.
Location pending artists availability.
Date to be confirmed between prize winner and artist.
Terms and conditions apply; Valid for one year.
