Rod Smallwood and Michael Hole host the inaugural Truants Race Day at Epsom Downs Race Course.

Thursday 1st August 2024

Since their first charity bike ride to EGYPT in Jan 2010; The Truants have raised £5,452,371 from 9 Truant bike rides, 10 Heavy Metal Truants annual bike rides, 10 annual golf days and 9 Legends dinners – yes nearly £5.5 million.

In the 14th year of The Truants, we are branching out into the world of Horse Racing to bring you all the spectacle and excitement of a day at the races- the money that we will be raising will be in support of the four Truants charities - Nordoff & Robins Music Therapy,  Teenage Cancer Trust, Save The Children and Childline/ NSPCC.

The event starts at 16.30- it includes 6 Races- all of which have been sponsored by Truants and will be named appropriately! We have a large private room for around 240 people in the main Epsom Hospitality building with an extended balcony overlooking the enclosure and finish line. And a long bar we are told!

There are only 8 tables of 10 seats each now available for full hospitality as below including fine dining, drinks, Hostess and easy access to betting facilities. Or just buy a ticket or two or more and we will make sure you are included on a good social table! And have your friends do so too. They will all be very social tables!

DRESS CODE

At Epsom Downs Racecourse we believe racing should be enjoyed by anyone and everyone and one thing is certainly true, the more relaxed and comfortable we feel, the more likely we are to have a great time .
So that's why we have created one very simple piece of guidance, to come "dressed to feel your best".
Fancy dress can often add colour and fun to our race days, but please avoid inappropriate or offensive outfits, as anything deemed vulgar or derogatory will be refused entry. Please also refrain from wearing sports team's kits when attending a race day.
