REACT responds to disasters and emergencies in the UK and internationally, delivering rapid humanitarian action to the hardest to reach and most vulnerable communities.
REACT's approach
The charity repurposes the hard-earned skills and experience of military veterans, blue-light responders, and talented civilians and trains them to be exceptionally agile and resilient humanitarians, capable of rapidly deploying when people need immediate and urgent relief.
Collaboration is key to REACT's work. By partnering with local organisations REACT gathers insight into the changing situation on the ground and the challenges facing affected communities, ensuring they can respond swiftly and effectively to the most urgent needs.
Recent deployments
Since March 2022, REACT has been active in response to the Ukraine conflict, providing vital meals, food aid and medical equipment. Most recently, REACT teams have delivered situational awareness and trauma response training in support of local organisations working on the front-lines. During 2023, REACT also deployed to Türkiye and Morocco, providing urgent sanitation, food and shelter to the hardest to reach communities shattered by the devastating earthquakes.
REACT has responded to Covid, conflict and climate disasters. In the UK, we’ve supported communities through flooding and sustained power outages, helped Afghan refugees to settle into new homes, and have worked collaboratively with food banks and poverty-relief NGOs to distribute essential supplies to families in need. During the CV-19 pandemic, REACT people worked all over the country helping with PPE distribution, community testing, vaccinations, ambulance decontamination, and even temporary mortuary assistance.
REACT wouldn’t be able to continue their work without the generosity of donors, volunteers, and supporters. For more information visit www.re-act.org.uk.
Thank you for supporting REACT through our 2024 gala.
